Cutting Mat For Skiving & Cutting Leather with Craft Knife (NOT for Punch Tools)

This cutting mat is great to use when skiving, as it protects the blade from hitting your workstation (which can dull/damage the blade over time).  It is also good to use underneath your leather when cutting with a craft knife.  See the note below for our recommendation for other uses!

NOTE:  Due to this pad's density and thickness, unless you are using extremely sharp tools on a very firm and stable work table, we DO NOT recommend this particular pad for punching leather (e.g., with our half-round, straight, hollow round, drive punches.  This pad is dense, but it has a bit of a "bounciness" that makes it a bit tougher to cut cleanly through certain types of leather with a punch.  Can you use it for this punching?  Yes (and it will do an excellent job of protecting your tools) - but you might find it takes a bit more effort to punch completely through your leather if using this specific pad.  Consider a poly cutting board or something similar for punching (coming soon).
